Office for the Support of People with Disabilities

The Office for the Support of People with Disabilities (OSPwD) is the unit of IB PAS. It works to ensure equal access to employment, education and scientific activities at IB PAS. The Office supports people with disabilities and those with special needs (PwD), offering personalised solutions and advice. Its activities are carried out in accordance with applicable legislation and the principles of equal treatment and non-discrimination.

Operation of the Office is governed by its Organisational regulations and Support regulations (see also the appendices to the Support regulations).

The Office offers support to persons associated with IB PAS: staff, doctoral students at the Doctoral School of Natural and Agricultural Sciences, job candidates and prospective students, visitors and participants in scientific events.

The tasks of the OSPwD staff include, in particular:

identifying the individual needs of PwD,
providing advice and consultation on appropriate work arrangements to PwD,
supporting doctoral students at the Doctoral School, in collaboration with the educational advisor, in overcoming barriers to admission and education,
monitoring and initiating measures to remove architectural, information and communication, and digital barriers,
raising awareness amongst staff and doctoral students of issues relating to disability by organising or co-organising workshops, training sessions and thematic conferences,
promoting the principles of equality and preventing social exclusion of people with special needs,
implementing best practices in the field of accessibility, drawing on the experience of other academic units and institutions.

To obtain the support offered by the Office, please contact a member of the Office staff and submit a request setting out your needs. The Office ensures that any information received is kept confidential with the privacy and dignity of the applicant fully respected, and takes an individual approach to each case.
