Our colleague awarded the START 2025 scholarship for outstanding young scientists

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Edyta Mazur has been awarded the START 2025 scholarship granted by the Foundation for Polish Science (FNP) in the field of molecular biology. The START programme is the oldest and one of the most prestigious scholarship programmes in Poland, dedicated to outstanding researchers under the age of thirty. In the 33rd edition of the competition, 725 applications from across the country were submitted. Following a multi-stage evaluation process, 100 laureates were selected. The scholarship will support the laureate’s scientific career development in the fields of lichen systematics and evolution (lichen-forming fungi), as well as research on secondary metabolites, with particular emphasis on their diversity, structure, and potential applications.
